Understanding diseases of aging: ageless woman

Errors in menopause treatment

Poor bone density - osteoporosis - fractures  -  menopause

The dangers of “traditional”hormonal substitution  by means of estrogens and  progesterone were published in 2002. “Risks and Benefits of Estrogen Plus Progestin in Healthy Postmenopausal Women” (JAMA. 2002;288:321-333). Women' S Health Initiative (WHI).

Those which are against the conclusions of Women' S Health Initiative (WHI).

Even after the conclusions of Women' S Health Initiative (WHI) which confirmed the higher risks of hormonal substitution (HRT) among women without symptoms, half of the gynecologists in the USA continued to accept the beneficial effects of this treatment on the health of the women. According to them traditional hormonal substitution (HRT) supports the osseous density and prevents consequently the risk of fractures.

Those which are for the conclusions of Women' S Health Initiative (WHI).

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (world leader of research for prevention, detection and treatment of cancers and other diseases threatening the life) publishes on May 5th, 2014:

It is an evaluation of the Women' S Health Initiative (WHI) in term cost and lives saved since the beginning the study which made it possible million women to stop the substitute hormonal treatment (HRT). The stop of the treatment made it possible to save 37.1 billion dollards and to save 250,000 lives

The controversy could be avoided by:

A better comprehension of

                the menopause concept  in general

the menopause disease (estrogenes does not correspond to a disease but  androgens
                                                       correspond to the disease !)

the single biology of each woman

Which treatment for which disease?

If there is no symptom, there is no disease. If there is no disease no hormonal treatment is justified.
The problem consists in making a precise biological diagnosis:

Ask your doctor or your laboratory to prescribe you detailed analyses:

COLLECTION OF URINE OVER 24 HOURS   INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PATIENT (Download pdf)

GLOBAL POOL OF ANDROGENS ANALYSES (Download pdf)

Is a preventive medication of the disorders associated with the menopause possible?

In this case there are no clinical symptoms but biology shows anomalies

Exhaustive studies with the assistance of pharmaceutical laboratories, governmental organizations and research foundations will be necessary to validate
the concept of the disease menopause disease on a great scale.
